GLAB HIGH-DETAIL 3D SCANNING

CAPTURE. RECREATE. PRODUCE.

High-detail 3D scanning for parts, vehicles, fitment checks, digital references and reverse-engineering workflows.

SCANNING CAPABILITIES

CAPTURE THE DETAIL THAT MATTERS.

3D scanning creates a digital reference of an existing object, helping with measurement, fitment, reproduction and further design work.

01

Parts & Components

Capture existing parts as digital references for measurement, fitment and reproduction workflows.

02

Automotive Scanning

Record vehicle areas, trim pieces and components where shape and surrounding fitment matter.

03

Reverse-Engineering Reference

Create scan data that can support reconstruction of suitable unavailable or custom parts.

04

Fitment & Packaging

Capture surrounding geometry to help develop parts that must fit within an existing space.

05

Digital Archiving

Preserve the shape and surface detail of objects as a reusable digital reference.

06

Scan-to-Print Workflow

Assess suitable objects for scanning, cleanup and preparation toward a 3D printed result.

OUR PROCESS

OBJECT TO DIGITAL MODEL.

STEP 1

Review the Object

Send photos, approximate dimensions, surface details and what the final scan will be used for.

STEP 2

Prepare & Capture

The object is positioned and, where required, prepared to improve tracking and surface capture.

STEP 3

Process the Scan

Captured data is aligned, cleaned and checked to create the agreed digital output.

STEP 4

Supply or Continue

Receive the scan file or continue into an agreed reverse-engineering or 3D printing workflow.

QUOTE CHECKLIST

WHAT TO SEND US.

The size, surface and intended use of the final data determine the scanning and cleanup required.

GOOD TO KNOWA scan is a captured surface mesh, not automatically a production-ready CAD model. Reverse engineering, rebuilding surfaces and design changes may require additional work.
Full object photos

Provide clear images from several angles and show any areas that are hidden, damaged or especially important.

Approximate dimensions

Include overall length, width and height so we can assess the required scan volume and access.

Surface and condition

Mention reflective, transparent, very dark, flexible or highly detailed surfaces and whether the object can be handled.

Required outcome

Tell us whether the scan is for reference, fitment, visual use, reverse engineering or 3D printing.

COMMON QUESTIONS

BEFORE YOU
GET STARTED.

Is a 3D scan the same as a CAD model? +
No. A scan normally produces a mesh representing the captured surface. A clean parametric CAD model or altered design may require separate reverse-engineering work.
Can every surface be scanned? +
Reflective, transparent, very dark and moving surfaces can be difficult to capture. Preparation or scanning spray may be needed, and we will discuss this before work begins.
How accurate will the scan be? +
Accuracy depends on object size, geometry, surface, scanner setup and the required output. Tell us which measurements or fitment areas are critical so we can assess the job correctly.
Can you scan something attached to a vehicle? +
Often, yes. Access, lighting, object size and surrounding space affect feasibility. Send photos of the full area and the specific geometry that must be captured.
